With the ever incessant pace of living we sometimes experience
high levels of stress without even realsiing what is happening.
Panic or anxiety is a high state of stress where we feel 'at our wits
end', out of control and unable to cope. It is very real to the person
affected and can be quite alarming and frightening.
I provide a very
patient and understanding approach when dealing with panic and anxiety
attacks and find that hypnotherapy is extremely swift and powerful in
bringing control and balance back, giving great relief. Particular causes
for the attacks and feelings are investigated and discussed and once
an understanding gained the applications of hypnotherapy are gently
applied that help alleviate the associated anxiety. Self hypnosis is
also taught that allows a great degree of control to be made by the
client. This is employed in conjunction with the 'triggers' or conditioned
responses that normally associate themselves with the problem ensuring
that you will cope with future stressful situations much more easily
and confidently.
In actual fact we
are conditioning our own minds, very much like programs on a computer
to react in the way we want to when any particular situation presents
itself, allowing you to remain calm and in control. In my personal practice,
depending on the individual, an immediate result is generally obtained
with the initial session with confirmation and strengthening at the
subsequent second and occasionally third session. We are all individuals
so the therapy is tailored to suit.
Sometimes the anxiety or panic may appear to be out of character or
'irrational', however, it is very real to you and sometimes prevents
people carrying on normally with their lives.
In my experience anxiety, irrational fears or panic can present itself
in a variety of different ways, some of them listed below :
Fears
Panic attacks in particular situations
Obsessive thoughts
Phobias of certain things
Coping with stress
Performance anxiety
Worry and uncertainty
Hypnotherapy is
a very powerful and natural way of releasing and removing these fears,
anxieties and panic attacks. In my experience hypnotherapy, because
of the workings of our unconscious minds effects very effective speedy
relief compared with traditional 'conscious' forms of therapy and is
carried out in a relaxed, safe, secure and comfortable environment.
The 'fight or flight'
syndrome that normally associates itself with 'facing our fears' is
perfectly natural as it is our unconscious mind's way of keeping us
safe and dealing with things. Your unconscious therefore automatically
triggers feelings of panic in certain situations because it has been
'conditioned' by yourself to do so, and the anxiety state continues
getting progressively more acute. Any anxiety or panic inducing upsetting
or distressing thought (maybe about a person or particular situation)
if it is repeated or presented to you often enough can become a 'conditioned'
response that is then associated with the feelings of upset.
